Ella is a confident and driven criminal lawyer with a strong passion for courtroom advocacy and achieving the best possible outcomes for her clients.
She graduated with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Psychological Science from Bond University in 2022, with a specialty in Legal Practice, before completing her Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice later that year. Ella was admitted to practice as a Barrister and Solicitor in the South Australian Supreme Court in 2022.
Ella’s early legal experience includes working as a law clerk with the Queensland Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions in 2021. She then spent 12 months as Associate to the Honourable Justice Kari, a Division 1 Justice of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, gaining invaluable insight into complex litigation and judicial decision-making.
Following this, Ella commenced as an Associate in the District Court of South Australia, working closely with several judges across a broad range of matters. During her time at the District Court, she was promoted to Senior Associate and completed her tenure at the end of 2024.
For the past year, Ella has worked as a prosecutor with the Northern Territory Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, primarily within the summary jurisdiction. In this role, she has regularly appeared in court, conducted summary trials, and travelled extensively to regional bush circuits, developing strong advocacy skills in diverse courtroom environments.
Ella has been a committee member of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Psychiatry, Psychology and Law since 2023, reflecting her ongoing interest in the intersection between law, psychology and human behaviour.
Ella has a strong interest in criminal law due to its client-focused and advocacy-driven nature. She is motivated by the opportunity to appear in court, engage directly with clients, and work toward practical and fair outcomes. Ella is committed to continuing to develop her skills in criminal law while providing thoughtful, diligent and client-focused representation.
