Re:  Conference – Gold Coast

Recently members of this firm attended the Australian Defence Lawyers Association annual conference, this year held on the Gold Coast.

The delegates, Casey Isaacs, Jason Evitts and Emily Cousins attended as part of the requirements to fulfil the continuing professional development obligations to practise as legal practitioners in South Australia.

The conference was attended by law firms from each State in Australia and was organised by the Australian Defence Lawyers Association.

Delegates had the privilege of undertaking lectures and discussions with specialist criminal lawyers.

The conference was well attended and conference contributors were well received for their expert knowledge, experience and delivery of information.

The delegates were fortunate to participate in topical discussions involving ethical considerations for criminal lawyers along with discussions regarding future anti-money laundering legislation.

Delegates were also provided with the opportunity to experience an enlightening and instructive presentation by District Court Judge His Honour Judge Kent QC of the Queensland District Court, and expert contributions by forensic psychologists Dr Katarina Fitzon, Dr Jacqui Yuxole and forensic computer expert Dr Bradley Schatz.
